2015 Magellan Competition II

Still no winner this time. The course was very difficult. Mark’s robot got stuck in the grass. Josh’s robot was able to navigate the way points. However, one of the way points was too close to the parking lot and he hit the e-stop to avoid a potential collision.

This is a rematch for the 2015 Magellan Competition. We expect to have twice as many entries into this event.

Location:

This is a new location. The competition will at the Forest Park at Jefferson Dr and Wells Dr. It is about a 1/2 mile from the Planetarium. You can park on the street.

Course length is .2 miles or 329 meters.

Rules:

All waypoints must be “touched” by passing within a 15′ radius circle drawn about the waypoint.
Vehicles must finish the course and stop within a 15′ radius circle drawn about the start/finish point.
A vehicle is defined as an autonomous wheeled, tracked or otherwise ground based platform.
Competition held rain or shine!

Prize money:

$100 to the ground based vehicle that completes the course in the fastest time. In the event that no vehicles complete the course, the prize money will not be awarded.
